Where Does Time Go?

I used to wish I had one more hour in a day to get all the things I wanted done. Now, I wish I had one more week in a day! (For those math whizzes out there, that would be 7 days worth of time all in one day! Ha!)
Time flies by and Kari and I feel like we are just running to catch up. River, work, and just simply life are keeping us on our toes sprinting to not get behind. But all of this is ok, because it is part of the adventure of living. If we weren't busy I guess we'd probably be bored.
River is quite the character now days. He is growing so well into a little boy and is becoming a personality all in his own. He has his own likes and dislikes, his own wants and needs, and his own way of dealing with the world and interacting with people.
He loves cheerios, or those little baby snacks that look like cheerios. He loves food in general. I'd have to say besides the mornings, it's probably his favorite time of the day. We are trying to feed him different little things all the time. He had hamburger for the first time a few days ago and loved it! (just like his daddy!) We were a little worried about giving him dairy because the first time we gave him milk he projectile vomited it all up. So recently we have been giving him a little plain yogurt and he seems to be doing just fine with it.
He loves being outside and he loves the wind and the trees. When we go outside he points at the trees and says "ook" which we decipher to mean "look". He points at anything he is interested in and says "ook". It's really cute.
Mornings seem to be his favorite time of the day. When we go in to get him out of his crib after he has been playing for a bit (or fussing), we open the door and he opens his mouth wide and gasps like it is the greatest thing in the world that we are there. We open his curtains and he points and gasps and says "ook!" as if to say "look! the world is awesome and waiting for me to come play!"
He loves his Mommy and Daddy (that's us!). Although he is becoming much more of a little explorer in the house. It's hard to keep tabs on him because he is crawling so fast now. You can't turn your head away without him darting off somewhere out of sight. He definitely doesn't like being caged in. His playpen or a baby gate is not his cup of tea. He wants freedom for sure!
He is a little flirt. When he is introduced to people he is a little shy, but for some reason, you put him in a store or a restaurant and he talks and giggles and flirts with everyone that walks within 10 feet of him. He makes more friends at other peoples' dinner tables than anyone I've ever known! Needless to say, after he gets a bit comfortable with you, he is not shy in the least.
He isn't walking yet but is well on his way. He stands on his own for a second or two at a time and is more and more trying to get up on his feet. I figure it's only a matter of time before he is no longer crawling, but running through the house or around it even.
He is growing up in front of our eyes quicker than we can imagine. It's an amazing thing to see. Bittersweet in so many ways. Luckily he is a beautiful child and hopefully Kari and I can be great parents to a little boy who is more and more making decisions for himself. We are both just glad to be a part of his life.
